Our Research

BETTER RESEARCH THROUGH SCIENCE.

Through many experiments, equipment development and long hours of investigation, research and documentation we hope to eventually establish credible useful data to be used for the advancement of paranormal research. Below are some of our research projects.

  • The Environmental and Geological Correlation Study

Any good scientific approach involves the correlation of data. Establishing demonstrable  patterns in erratic activity is a reliable methodology to understand sources and causal foundations.  The Baker-Geo-Corr Study is embracing this methodology to find patterns in atmospheric and geological data for locations alleged to produce paranormal phenomena.  Our study begins with mapping paranormal “Hot Spots” in the United States and several European counties and comparing the locations against 27 various atmospheric and environmental measurements established by the USGS.  Our hope is to one day provide conclusive predictability in para-normally active areas.  Our research has already made several possible correlations that might have gone undiscovered.

  • Automated Research

The idea of automating field research has always been an exciting prospect to me. After all, removing the largest research contaminant (the investigator) from the mix, only promises to provide a objective collection of data which can easily be analyzed at a later time without the be-deviling issues presented by misconception and confirmation biases. It is with this element in mind that I have decided to apply my professional expertise in the world of electronics and software development, and create an auto-mated pseudo-intelligent system to record large amounts of environmental data and react to specified conditions in a variety of ways. It should be a robot. But not what one would typically think of as a robot. It’s not mobile (at least not at this stage) it doesn’t have a head and moving arms, but it will have blinking lights, specialized sensors, a computer voice and the ability to respond with apparent intelligence.

  • Examination of Memory Storage Variants in Atmospheric Matter

Can the environment store information that can be recalled at a later time? That is the big question with this portion of our research. Many paranormal researchers claim that some “hauntings” are residual and the result of stored experiences in the environment that replay when conditions are correct. Although this is a fascinating hypothesis, there is absolutely no research to support the idea. We will be looking at different methods to test this hypothesis and identify any scientific principles that might support or reject the possibility.

  • EVP Patterns and Statistical Evaluations

For decades investigators are groups have been recording Electronic Voice Phenomena. Many of these investigators claim that they have received intelligible answers to their line of questions.  Where the answers they received truly an intelligent response? or was it simply chance that random words captured on recording match or answer their questions.  It is our directive in this study to establish the statistical likelihood that a randomly spoken word will answer random questions asked.

  • Phonetic Pattern Calculations in Electronic Voice Phenomena

This study is being conducted in two phases.  First, our purpose is to collect a wide variety of human voices that we will analyze and establish formant patterns that are tied to the demographics of each individual.  With this information cataloged we can then create a form of calculator that will help us decipher the messages received in many of the thousands of EVP messages gathered by research teams each year.

  • Electronic Voice Phenomena – EM Transference Hypothesis

EVP has been the most popular aspect of paranormal research for generations.  Unknown voices are recorded in audio equipment without being heard by the operator.  Some believe these are voices of human “spirits” others think they are voices from aliens or other dimensional beings. Some believe they may be voices from our past or telepathic communications. The real source is unknown, but what we know for sure is they are mysterious. The most plausible explanation behind the mechanical process of EVP is what we call the EM Transference Hypothesis.  Anomalous recordings of voices are made  through a process called induction. Electro-magnetic frequencies traveling in the same complex frequency waves as audio create electrical current in the microphones coil or chamber. This sound is then recorded in perfect fidelity on the media and transformed into audible sounds on playback. We are in the process of extensive experimentation and Laboratory equipment development utilizing this presumed EVP physics structure. Our hope is to establish greater understanding of the mysterious sources that produce this phenomena.

  • Botanical Paranormal Perception

Can plants sense or react to paranormal activity? Dozens of independent studies claim that plants can feel, see, speak and even think. The notion that plants are capable of feeling emotions was first recorded in 1848, when Dr. Gustav Theodor Fechner, a German experimental psychologist, suggested that plants are capable of emotions and that one could promote healthy growth with talk, attention, and affection. But can they sense anomalous activity?  In an effort to expand this historical research we are conducting various tests to find out for sure.

  • Understanding Human Misconceptions.

All of our experiences, visual, audible, and sensory are ultimately derived from the brain. It is the primary key our consciousness and our understanding.  In this intensive study it is our intent to grasp a statistical understanding of how the human mind perceives various encounters.  In paranormal research it vital to understand this vastly varying component of human behavior.  This study uses various surveys, and experiments utilizing biological measurement equipment to capture experience statistics for analyzation.

  • Electromagnetic Charging of Pipes and Conduits

The most common source of elevated magnetic field readings (high EMF) in homes is electrical current on a water pipe. This is more accurately described as neutral current diversion into a metallic plumbing and grounding system, also referred to as plumbing current, or ground current. Small commercial buildings can also exhibit this condition. The situation exists when some of the current that would normally return through the electrical service line feeding the building is instead channeled into the grounding system, where it returns to the transformer by way of alternate paths, including water pipes, the public water main, and neighboring residences. This unbalanced current creates a strong magnetic field with a wide spatial extent. The type of power distribution system used in the U.S., in combination with important National Electrical Code grounding requirements, establish the underlying conditions for this problem to occur. It is more common in communities with moderate to high housing density, especially those served by overhead power distribution lines, but it can occur anywhere. Our hope is to confirm and study this phenomena as a possible source for paranormal perception.

  • Audible Neurological Reception of Radio Frequencies.

Beginning in World War II radar operators made claims of being able to “hear” the microwave emissions from the radar assembly. Research was conducted to confirm their claims and it was discovered that the microwaves affect the inner ear / cochlea through a mechanism called thermo-elastic expansion. The microwaves cause the biological material in the head to quickly expand with each pulse. This pulsing vibration is then channeled (presumably through the bone) and transforms into electrical signals in the cochlea. Over the past few years we have been receiving contact from people who are claiming to “hear” an unknown radio in their home while trying to sleep at night. They can’t seem to find the source and the sound is low and muffled like it’s playing on the other side of a wall. Some feel this is paranormal in nature, but we were able to tie these experiences to nearby A.M. Broadcast towers. We believe the radio phenomena is related to the audible microwave effect. Our hope is to replicate and research.

  • Localized Paranormal Environment Predictability

We are working to establish statistical predictability of paranormal phenomena in “paranormally” active locations. By understanding the environmental conditions that surround unusual phenomena, we may be able to either synthesize or trigger that phenomena in a laboratory situation. This achievement would add demonstrability to paranormal conditions and allow for greater scientific testing.

  • Linguistic Perception of Electronic Voice Phenomena

Since the mid-20th century EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) has been the focus of countless debates. Among them is the interpretation of what is truly being spoken within each recording. Since most EVP recordings are low in quality, phonetic analysis is often difficult and therefore most researchers rely on their hearing and audible interpretations to determine the words contained in each file. The purpose of this experiment is to establish the accuracy percentage at which human hearing can identify spoken words in random statements contained in low quality recordings.

  • Understanding Claims of Psychic or Enhanced Human Ability

From time to time, people come to us with claims of possessing enhanced human abilities. Things such as psychic abilities or even super human ability.  In the name of science we do our best to examine their claims and in the event we find someone credible and able to demonstrate their claim we do take advantage of the opportunity to conduct further research. One of these cases can be found here: The Study if Fei Wang

  • Electromagnetic Effects on Human Perceptions

In the early 1980’s Dr. Michael Persinger made significant discoveries concerning the effects of low intensity, low frequency moving electro-magnetic fields on the temporal areas of the brain. Dr. Persinger noticed that people exposed to these fields were subject to a variety of paranormal-like experiences such as alien abduction, ghosts and even communication with their respective deities.  We are working to expand upon this research by developing a variety of tests to hopefully identify, within natural home environments, the moving 40Hz signals noted by Dr. Persinger in his lab.  Rather than simply searching for Electro-magnetic fields, we will be searching for the fields that specifically cause this effect.

  • Soil Conductivity

In scientific research it’s always best to leave no stone un-turned. We not only look at the stones, but the soil below. The conductivity and resistance of soil may play a role in the perception of “haunted” neighborhoods.  Highly conductive soil may aid in creating ground loops, static charges or increased electro-magentism through partially buried metal vessels.  The research in this area is still new, but we hope to first establish a correlation between activity and soil condition which will justify further research and experimentation.

  • Brain Wave Analysis

We are seeking to understand the state of the human brain in various encounters or conditions. This may give us clues and possibly identify a “human” factor within alleged phenomena. By using specialized headsets capable of recording brainwaves we monitor volunteers during certain activities and events.  We are hoping to see trends are possible correlations between outcomes and reactions. For example we may monitor the brains of volunteers as they claim to have an alleged paranormal experience, such as a psychic impression etc.

  • Establishing Sound Direction

Any researcher can tell you that one of the problems with audio analysis is the determination of a source direction.  Knowing the source direction of an anomalous recording can help to either debunk or support claims of a paranormal origin. Did the sound come from the bedroom or from outside?  To solve this problem we developed (and patented) a system for recording sound direction along with the audio. On review, we are now able to identify the direction of the loudest sound we hear and better debunk our recordings. A second version of this device that uses better computer processing is currently under development.

  • Air Quality Analysis

The quality of air in a home environment can have considerable effects on human reactions and perceptions. So we monitor a range of atmospheric and environmental conditions to search for possible causes of perceived paranormal activity or unsafe conditions. The data we gather will eventually be analyzed for statistical significance and the results published for peer review.

  • Infra-sound Correlations

Infra-sound is audio frequencies that are too low to be heard by the human ear (<20Hz). In the right situation and at the right frequency/intensity Infra-Sound can cause significant physiological and psychological effects. For example, NASA found that the human eyes resonate (vibrate) at 18.97Hz, The human skin resonates at around 8Hz, a frequency of 12Hz can cause stress or duress etc. Infra-sound has been claimed to cause hallucinations, anxiety, high blood pressure, low heart rate, heating, cooling, fear, paranoia, sleep paralysis, sleep walking and a large host of other biological effects, all while remaining unheard by the human ear. There are also infra-sound effects that can physically interact with our environment. It has been claimed that Infra-sound can blow out candles, close doors, toss items from shelves, move objects and more.  All of these items fit equally into claims of paranormal encounters and so it is our hope to test these effect and search for traces of these low frequencies at alleged active locations.

  • ELF Electro-Magnetism & Coil Calculations

One of our main focuses over the past year has been on the development of various coils. This research helps us in a variety of areas as the coils are used for creating EMF Spectro-grams, Recording EVP, Monitoring Earth frequencies (Schumann and Aurora), Detecting Infra-sound, Electro-magnetic Transmission, Botanical environments experimentation, Proximity experiments, Radio broadcast experiments, Energy transfer research and much more. The exciting science behind these amazing devices was aggressively explored by none other than Nikola Tesla himself.  Tesla believed the secrets to the universe rested in frequencies and these coils help explore that concept.  Below are just a few of the coils made over the course of the past 5 years.

  • Frequency Deficiency in Alleged Active Environments.

Rather than measure for the addition of energy within the environment, we are now seeking to find energy deficiencies from a controlled frequency sample. The idea that paranormal phenomena “removes” energy to manifest is not new, for decades people have claimed dead batteries are the result of an unknown entity. The physical principle is sound in that energy is required for any working event. It is that principle we are testing here. By applying controlled frequency emissions over a wide range, we are hoping to monitor tiny variations in the subsequent detection of those same emissions in “paranormal” and controlled environments.

  • Magneto-Caloric Studies

The magneto-caloric effect is the process of magnetic or ferrous materials changing temperature when exposed to a magnetic field.  We are working to better understand this process by building a magneto-calorimeter and analyzing the possible effects of alleged paranormal environments on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The magneto-caloric effect can cause heating or cooling when applied in different approaches. Since the human body has a certain level of permeability we would like to understand if there is a heating process in certain environments. Heating can cause a variety of psychological effects including anxiety, stress, etc.

  • Shadow Detection & Research

There have been many claims of mysterious moving shadows through out history. Many are described as coming from the peripheral vision which, in some cases, may be a misconception due natural resonance of the human eye through infra-sound. However, there have been shadows caught in video segments. One in particular was caught by one of our team members at an Inn in Sudbury, MA. (view footage here).  These types of shadows are wispy and light and are often hard to see. By using a specially designed light and sensor, we may be able to pick up when these shadows are present. Our hope is to be able to measure their size speed and density and ultimately their composition.
